Bernice Taylor

Taylor, Bernice Age 80, was a Gary resident for 55 years, formerly of Brownsville, Tennessee. She passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ed and Augusta Mann; husband, Johnnie Earl Taylor; son, Thomas Earl Taylor; sisters, Florene White and Josephine Hess; brother, Eddie Louis Mann; son-in-law, Jason Gardener, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Barbara Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memories, seven (7) daughters, Susiette Gardner, Vivian Taylor, Gusta Y. Taylor, and Carol (Percy) Love, all of Gary, Indiana, Connie (Reverend Terence) Standifer of Warren, Michigan, Denise (Walter) Powers of Fort Worth, Texas, Monica Y. Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia and one (1) son, Johnny Darryl Taylor of Gary, Indiana. She is fondly remembered by her sister, Ora Lou Mann of Brownsville, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Linda Gary and Phyllis Taylor of Gary, Indiana; eleven (11) grandchildren, eleven (11) great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, and her best friend, Eldora Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31st, at 11:00 a.m. at Clark Road Missionary Baptist Church, 2841 Clark Road, Gary, Indiana, Reverend Pharis Evans, Pastor, Reverend Terrence Standifer officiating. Visitation will be held at Smith, Bizzell and Warner Funeral Home, 4209 Grant Street, Gary, Indiana on Thursday, August 30th, from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m., family hour 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, Indiana
